About the Job:

We are looking for an experienced Learning Support Officer to join our team at a primary school in Colchester, Essex. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students with ADHD, providing individualized support to help them succeed academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with ADHD in Key Stage 2 classrooms.
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans and behavior strategies.
  • Ensure students stay focused and engaged during lessons.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the SEN team to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Provide emotional and social support to students.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children with ADHD or other SEN.
  • Knowledge of sensory needs and experience in implementing sensory-based learning or therapeutic activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or alternative communication systems.
  • A relevant qualification in SEN support or childcare is desirable but not essential.
