About the Role:
Opus People Solutions on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council is looking for an experienced Property Maintenance Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out painting and decorating work to a high standard within empty Council properties throughout the Kettering & Corby Areas.
This role involves minor plastering works, filling, and stripping wallpaper when required. The Property Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for working safely off ladders, scaffolds, or 'Cherry Picker' and identifying harmful substances such as asbestos-bearing materials and MDF.
Key Responsibilities:
- Painting and decorating work to unoccupied Council housing stock as specified.
- Internal or external decorating to domestic Council properties to a high standard.
- Work safely off ladders, scaffolds, or 'Cherry Picker' as required and be aware of all hazards involved when working at heights.
- Identify harmful substances such as asbestos-bearing materials and MDF.
- Hold a current driving licence and experience driving commercial vehicles under 3 tons.
- Drive NNC vehicles for business use and travel between locations as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualifications: Minimum Level 2 in painting and decorating.
- Experience: At least 24 months of hands-on experience in a similar role.
- Driving: Full, clean UK driving licence.
Estimated Salary: £31,400 - £37,000 per annum based on a 37-hour week
