About Us

North Northamptonshire Council is a local authority that provides a range of services to its residents, including waste collection, street lighting, and planning applications. We are currently seeking an experienced Painter/Decorator to join our team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out painting and decorating work to a high standard within empty Council properties throughout the Kettering & Corby Areas. This will include minor plastering works, filling, and stripping wallpaper when required.

The ideal candidate will have experience working at heights, identifying harmful substances such as Asbestos-bearing materials and MDF. They will also need to hold a valid driving license and drive company vehicles responsibly.

Responsibilities

  1. Complete painting and decorating work to a high standard within empty Council properties.
  2. Carry out internal or external decorating to Council properties to a high standard.
  3. Work safely off ladders, scaffolds, or 'Cherry Picker' as required and be aware of all hazards involved when working at heights.
  4. Educate themselves on various substances used in the job to ensure they remain safe while working.
  5. Drive company vehicles responsibly and adhere to all traffic laws.

Requirements

  1. Qualifications: Minimum Level 2 in painting and decorating.
  2. Driving: Full, clean UK driving licence and access to own vehicle for commuting and occasional business use.
