Job Overview

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Children and Young People's team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with children and young people to help them develop the skills they need to participate in daily activities and achieve their full potential.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and develop individualised plans to support children and young people with a range of needs, including physical, sensory, and cognitive impairments.
  • Work with children and young people, their families, and other professionals to implement and review plans, ensuring that they are meeting the child's needs and goals.
  • Develop and deliver training and education to children, young people, and their families, to promote independence and self-advocacy.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including healthcare professionals, teachers, and social workers, to ensure that children and young people receive a comprehensive and coordinated service.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the service is delivered in a way that is responsive to the needs of children and young people.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualification in Occupational Therapy (BSc or MSc)
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience of working with children and young people with a range of needs, including physical, sensory, and cognitive impairments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess and develop individualised plans, and to work with children, young people, and their families to implement and review plans.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training and education to children, young people, and their families, to promote independence and self-advocacy.
