This position plays a crucial part in ensuring the effective operation of our Workshops, where you will work alongside other engineering personnel to provide maintenance and calibration services to mechanical and electrical test and measuring equipment.

Job Overview

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week, with a salary of £23,310 per annum. The successful candidate will be responsible for calibrating and carrying out unit test procedures on all types of mechanical and electrical test and measuring equipment, as well as processing the dispatch and receipt of these assets to and from external agencies.

You will also be involved in routine maintenance of TME, collection and delivery of assets from inventory holders, and assisting with the setup of audio visual aids for conferences and events. Additionally, you will support line management and foremen with any other workshops-related tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and carry out unit test procedures on all types of mechanical and electrical test and measuring equipment.
  • Process the dispatch and receipt of TME assets to and from external agencies.
  • Carry out routine maintenance of TME as required.
  • Collect and deliver TME assets from inventory holders.
  • Assist with the setup of audio visual aids for conferences and events.
  • Support line management and foremen with workshops-related tasks.

Requirements

  • Hold a Level 3 Engineering qualification, supported by evidence of practical experience or academic certification.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Be capable of manual handling tasks when loading and unloading audio visual aids equipment into vehicles.
  • Be familiar with MS Office 365 and able to use basic MS Word and Excel programs.

Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including access to gymnasium and swimming pool facilities, on-site shop and café facilities, and 25 days paid annual leave rising to 30 days after five years' service. However, please note that this post does not offer relocation expenses, and external recruits will be subject to a six-month probation period.
