Job Title: Equipment Maintenance Engineer

Location: Chelmsford

Salary: £36,000 per annum

Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Description:

As an Equipment Maintenance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production equipment. Your responsibilities will include supporting the equipment build and calibration teams, assisting with apprentice training, and performing a range of tasks aimed at minimizing equipment downtime and improving overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and prioritize your workload effectively to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Adhere to good health, safety, and housekeeping practices at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Support the equipment build, calibration, and preventative maintenance teams to ensure seamless equipment operation.
  • Assist in the training and development of apprentices to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Identify and implement preventative maintenance needs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Perform regular scheduled safety inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to maintain equipment integrity.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, performing reactive maintenance when necessary to minimize disruption.
  • Assist in sourcing spare parts and establishing stock levels for equipment to ensure timely repairs.
  • Fabricate mechanical components as required for equipment repairs to maintain equipment functionality.
  • Suggest and implement equipment improvements to enhance performance and safety, and provide technical support to production engineers regarding equipment issues.
