About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Change Policy Expert to join our team at British International Investment. As a key member of our Climate Team, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of our climate strategy.

As a Climate Change Policy Expert, you will be responsible for developing tools and metrics to evaluate the Paris alignment of investments in different sectors and regions. You will also evaluate potential pipeline investments in climate finance across different sectors and regions, in terms of their contribution to emissions mitigation and resilience as well as potential risks to impact.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the scientific underpinnings of climate change policy, particularly the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). They will also be familiar with key investment sectors required for the net zero and climate resilient transition and the policy and investment levers required to enable this transition, particularly in emerging markets.

The successful candidate will receive an estimated salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading development finance institution and contribute to the global effort to address climate change.
