Role Title: Purchase Ledger Officer

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Contract: Permanent

Location: Dartford / Agile

You will process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments, ensuring that the information held in our supplier accounts is current, complete, and accurate.

We support agile working, providing all IT equipment to work flexibly between your home and our Dartford office. You will be part of a friendly but hard-working team of 4, within the wider Finance & Corporate Services directorate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing communication with suppliers via our shared Purchase Ledger email inbox.
  • Preparing and submitting payment runs using the SunSystems accounting system, and ad-hoc payments using Bankline.
  • Reconciling our supplier accounts to the suppliers' statements and liaising with the suppliers to resolve any differences.

Requirements:

  • Accounting experience: You should understand the difference between a debit and a credit, and between an invoice, a credit note, and a statement.
  • Computer skills: Working in a Microsoft Windows environment should be second nature to you, including competency in MS Excel and MS Word, and the management of files using File Explorer.
  • Reconciliation skills: You need to display ability to resolve and reconcile issues with limited supervision by methodically identifying sources of errors, making retrospective corrections, and ensuring that appropriate changes are put in place to prevent reoccurrence.
