Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing a cluster of buildings across the UK, providing facilities management and project services to our client, BT.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing relationships with customers, suppliers, and your team to deliver a high-performing working environment
  • Ensuring health and safety compliance onsite, including third-party service providers and maintenance records
  • Preparing, controlling, and monitoring service agreements in accordance with the BT contract and associated budgets
  • Compiling and maintaining management information/records, including asset registers and emergency plans
  • Developing and maintaining excellent customer/tenant relationships, ensuring high standards of service
  • Liaising with local authorities as appropriate
  • Managing risk and dealing with insurance issues
  • Leading major work programmes on site, acting as liaison point for all parties involved
  • Producing management reports in accordance with business needs
  • Playing a lead role in managing and controlling incidents, owning timely and appropriate communication/escalation
  • Developing partnerships with supply partners and P&FS colleagues to deliver and improve workplace environments
  • Liaising with projects to ensure smooth transition into business-as-usual activity
  • Identifying, tracking, and influencing key PMS/KPI and financial performance metrics
  • Actively supporting the success of your Area, Region, and BU
  • Monitoring and identifying areas for improvement
  • Identifying and acting on safety trends and reports to create interventions
  • Measuring and tracking quality at all levels in your cluster
  • Ensuring mandatory processes are in place and compliant
  • Leading a direct team, including full line management of colleagues within your cluster
  • Ensuring your team has the skills and motivation to carry out their roles
  • Being visible and accessible to the team and customer
  • Ensuring direct reports are appraised annually and development plans are in place
  • Representing CBRE in a professional and credible manner to customers and the public

You will be responsible for delivering in the following areas, ensuring performance standards are met:

  • QHSE: Health & Safety, Environment, Risk Mgmt & Quality
  • Operations: MFM App, WO Mgmt (PPM, Reactive, Corrective), Asset Data Mgmt, PMS, Supplier Mgmt, Projects, Audits & Contract Administration
  • Finance: P&L, Balance Sheet, Forecast / Budget, WIP, Purchasing, WebQuote, Account Receivables, Account Payables
  • People Management: Recruitment, Development, Engagement, Performance Management, People Management
  • Procurement and Services: Service delivery and performance management, technology compliance, margin improvement, BU procurement and service plan, reporting, governance and assurance

Person Specification:

  • Previous facilities management experience, including line management responsibility and contractor management
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • High degree and knowledge reference of Health and Safety legislation, environmental protection requirements, and ideally IOSH or NEBOSH qualified
  • The ability to understand complex problems and make recommendations while remaining calm under pressure
  • Able to demonstrate an empowering and inspiring leadership style
  • Strong commercial acumen is essential, and experience of managing a P&L is preferable
  • Analytical skills, competent in performance management - analysis and reporting techniques
  • IWFM qualification desirable
