Job Title: Full-time SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special school in Cheltenham. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting students with a wide range of special needs and disabilities.

About the Role:

The role of Teaching Assistant will involve supporting a range of different classes, requiring flexibility and a positive attitude. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year's experience working with special needs and disabilities, with a preference for those with special school experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with complex needs in a variety of settings
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students as needed
  • Assist with classroom management and organization
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of the school's special needs provision
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year's experience working with special needs and disabilities
  • Special school experience preferred
  • Full-time availability (preferably long-term)
  • Flexibility, reliability, positivity, patience, and confidence
  • Ability to deal with challenging behavior
