Job Description

We are working in partnership with a reputable special school in Cheltenham to recruit a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of special needs and disabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year's experience working with special needs and disabilities, with a preference for those who have worked in special schools. The role requires full-time availability, preferably on a long-term basis, and the ability to work flexibly to support different classes.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents. They will also be confident in managing challenging behavior and have a patient and positive approach to supporting students with complex needs.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of students, working closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver high-quality support and care.

Requirements:

  • At least one year's experience working with special needs and disabilities
  • Special school experience preferred
  • Full-time availability (preferably long-term)
  • Flexibility, reliability, positivity, patience, confidence
  • Confident in dealing with challenging behavior
