Make a Difference as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in a primary school in Tredegar. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) in the classroom, providing one-to-one and general support to pupils with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pupils with SEN in the classroom, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Provide a range of support to pupils, including academic, social, and emotional support
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation, as needed
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working or volunteering with children with SEN
  • Proactive work ethic and ability to work independently
  • Good understanding of special educational needs and ability to provide individualized support
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Patience and understanding attitude, with a commitment to providing a positive and supportive learning environment
