Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AHP support workforce development lead to join our team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a National AHP Support Workforce Programme funded by NHS England.

As an AHP support worker, you will play a crucial role in operationalising the AHP Support Worker Competency, Education, and Career Development Framework across the organisation. You will be responsible for research, networking, and delivery of key workstream outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Working as a champion for the Allied Health Professional (AHP) unregistered support workforce.
  2. Identifying the AHP support workers in the organisation and creating communication channels to build a Community of Practice for support workers.
  3. Leading on a programme of work to develop the support worker role across the Trust's AHP professions.
  4. Scoping, networking (internal and external), and consultation to deliver key workstreams around competency development, enhancing the scope of practice, education, and development opportunities.
  5. Supporting the implementation of the AHP support worker framework.
  6. Establishing stakeholder relationships across local, regional, and national networks.
  7. Representing the organisation at the Devon Support Worker Council / Devon AHP Council.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
