Job Title: Athletic Development Coach

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Sport Scientist or Sport Therapist to join our team at Villa Park.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting and leading the implementation and evaluation of Athletic Development support for our Academy players, specifically working with our Youth and Professional Development Phase players.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing evidence-based Athletic Development programs
  • Providing coaching and guidance to Academy players
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize player health and performance
About the Department

Our Boys Academy Department has been awarded Category 1 status, demonstrating our commitment to providing high-quality coaching, education, and training for our staff and youth football provisions.

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, passionate about gym-based adolescent Athletic Development, and has the ability to coach with energy and enthusiasm.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to hold the following qualifications:

  • BSc (Hons) in Sport Science or Sports Therapy (minimum 2:1)
  • MSc in Strength and Conditioning (or equivalent)
  • UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) accreditation or equivalent (or in progress)

Significant demonstrable experience in providing high-quality gym-based Athletic Development coaching to elite youth athletes in a full-time capacity within a professional sporting environment is essential.
