Our Boys Academy Department is a Category One academy, recognized for its commitment to providing exceptional coaching, education, training, and facilities for our youth football programs.
We are dedicated to nurturing and developing young talent, and we are seeking a passionate and experienced Athletic Development Specialist to join our team.
The RoleAs an Athletic Development Specialist, you will play a vital role in optimizing the physical performance of our Academy players. You will work closely with youth and professional development phase athletes, implementing evidence-based athletic development programs designed to enhance their strength, conditioning, injury prevention, and overall physical capabilities.
This is an opportunity to contribute to the success of some of the most promising young footballers in the country.
Responsibilities- Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of athletic development programs tailored to the specific needs of Academy players.
- Provide expert guidance on strength training, conditioning, movement analysis, and injury prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with other members of the Academy Sport Science and Medical Department to ensure a holistic approach to player development.
- Monitor player progress and make adjustments to programs as needed.
- Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in athletic development.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A BSc (Hons) in Sport Science or Sports Therapy (minimum 2:1).
- An MSc in Strength and Conditioning (or equivalent).
- UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) accreditation or equivalent.
- Significant experience in providing high-quality gym-based athletic development coaching to elite youth athletes in a professional sporting environment.
A thorough understanding of athletic development principles, including coaching fundamental movements, strength and conditioning, growth and maturation, injury prevention, gym-based rehabilitation, and physical performance analysis is essential.
