About the Job

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Classroom Support: Assist lead teachers in maintaining a safe and organized learning environment, including setting up materials and resources.
  2. Student Assistance: Provide individualized support to students who require additional help with academic tasks or need guidance with specific subjects.
  3. Instructional Support: Contribute to the preparation and implementation of lesson plans, ensuring that students receive high-quality instruction and support.
  4. Student Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of students during all aspects of the school day, including meals and outdoor activities.
  5. Behavior Management: Collaborate with the teaching team to implement effective behavior management strategies, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  6. Assessment Support: Assist with grading assignments, tracking student progress, and providing constructive feedback to students.
  7. Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress, behavior, or other concerns.
  8. Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative duties, such as record-keeping and preparing materials, to support the smooth operation of the classroom.
  9. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices.
  10. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives, fostering a positive and productive team culture.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a high school diploma or equivalent, with some college coursework in education or a related field preferred.
  • Desirable: previous experience working with children or in an educational setting.
  • Essential: strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and teachers.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with educational technology preferred.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and any other required screenings.
