Credit Risk Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Credit Risk Analyst to join our team at Close Brothers Group. As a Credit Risk Analyst, you will play a crucial role in developing, delivering, and monitoring credit risk strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake analysis of credit acquisition strategy and processes to provide insight and recommendations to credit management.
  • Set and monitor motor credit risk performance against agreed plans, targets, and budgets.
  • Develop and present high-quality credit risk-related MI and insight to credit management and other major stakeholders.
  • Effectively summarise and communicate findings using appropriate written and graphical techniques in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Maintain and provide input for relevant credit policies to ensure the delivery of business objectives and alignment with Group Credit Risk Standards.
  • Ensure compliance with prudent underwriting standards and assist Operations to ensure that motor's bad debt is managed appropriately.
  • Support Business Assurance team to review Quality Assurance checks of the underwriting, credit worthiness & affordability assessment, and decisioning of proposals underwritten within hubs and other CBMF businesses.

Requirements

  • A strong analytical mindset to be able to understand and investigate complex issues in a methodical manner.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and also experience of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate complex information to management and non-credit colleagues.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, sharing best practices and fostering a positive team spirit.
  • Knowledge of data mining techniques to extract, manipulate, and interpret large data sets.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of credit acquisition strategy including the setting of credit and affordability strategies, policies, underwriting, bureau data, and credit systems.
  • Experience of consumer and commercial underwriting, credit bureau data and reports, business accounts, etc.
  • Experience using tools such as SAS, SQL, Alteryx, Business Objects, or other similar data analytical tools.
