We are seeking an experienced Urban Planner to join our team in Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Belfast.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing client projects from commencement to completion, ensuring delivery is achieved to target.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Planning Directors' in successfully delivering their planning caseload
  • Directly engaging in business development initiatives
  • Actively supporting Senior Planners, Planners, Assistant Planners, and Graduates
  • Taking a lead role, preparing bid proposals, supporting colleagues with tender submissions, and helping them to deliver and manage projects
  • Assist in public consultations with preparatory materials and represent RPS at public events in support of client proposals
  • Attend and monitor committee and other hearings

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Fully qualified RTPI chartered town planner

• Substantive planning experience in the renewables sector (wind, solar, BESS etc)

• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a corporate environment

• Passion for planning, development, and environmental issues

• Good working knowledge of planning policy

• Keen eye on emerging planning policy

• Strategic thinker and someone who can readily problem solve

• Market awareness and good understanding of local planning issues
