About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Track Systems Team Leader to join our team at Colas Rail UK. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising work groups, ensuring the safe delivery of projects, and providing training and development opportunities for staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and integrity of all activities undertaken by the team, adhering to internal and external standards.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of daily events, site diaries, and labour delivery team performance.
  • Assist in the planning and allocation of labour resources to projects, ensuring timely completion and compliance with specifications.
  • Take an active role in project planning, working closely with the Construction Manager and technical staff to deliver high-quality results.
  • Oversee the management of plant and material requirements, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Deliver daily task briefings and maintain physical records for audit purposes.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure works are carried out safely and to the correct standard.
  • Populate redline drawings and ITP checks as work is completed.
  • Make recommendations for career development and training of site labour resources.
Person Specification
  • Hold PTS, COSS track safety competencies or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and influencing staff.
  • Previous experience in Track & Systems installation and construction activities, ideally for urban systems (Tramways, LRT).
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Ability to record and compile redline drawings and ITP documentation.
  • Understanding of other related rail disciplines and interface management.
