About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Track Systems Team Leader to join our team at Colas Rail UK. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising work groups, ensuring the safe delivery of projects, and providing training to staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination
    • Coordinate and supervise work groups to ensure the safe and timely delivery of projects.
    • Assign work, schedule work hours, and check results to ensure quality work.
  • Site Management
    • Supervise physical works on site, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
    • Ensure the safety integrity of all activities undertaken by staff.
  • Team Development
    • Assist in the development of a first-class Track Systems labour delivery team.
    • Provide training and support to staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Resource Allocation
    • Assist in the allocation of labour resources to projects, both internal and external.
    • Ensure that the team utilisation is on or above target.
  • Planning and Coordination
    • Take an active involvement in the planning of projects with the Construction Manager and supervisor.
    • Work alongside technical staff to plan, order, and oversee plant and material requirements.
Person Specification
  • Qualifications and Experience
    • Hold PTS, COSS track safety competencies or equivalent.
    • Proven experience of team leadership and influencing staff.
    • Previous experience of Track & Systems installation and construction activities, ideally for urban systems (Tramways, LRT).
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
    • Ability to record and compile redline drawings and ITP documentation.
    • Understanding of other related rail disciplines and interface management.
