Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Reception Supervisor to join our Communities Team at City, University of London Students' Union. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Welcome Desk (Reception) and providing excellent customer service to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the reception, ensuring a visible and reliable service to students.
  • Provide excellent customer service, both in-person and via email.
  • Oversee the management of student staff and line manage the Student Communities Administrator.
  • Support the delivery of our popular Northampton Square retail offer, including organising shop displays and coordinating our click and collect offer.
  • Assist the Communities Team with administrative tasks to create a thriving community where every student feels they belong.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An excellent working knowledge of customer service and administration.
  • Experience in overseeing a customer service function.
  • A strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as sustainability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This is a student-facing role, and the successful candidate will be required to work on site 5 days a week to ensure we deliver an excellent service for students. During term time, this position requires working two primary shift patterns: 8.00am – 4.00pm and 11.00am – 7.00pm.
