Job Title: Senior Chartered Surveyor

Newport Norse, working in partnership with Newport City Council, is a highly successful company based in South Wales, offering a range of property and facilities management services to the public and private sectors.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Undertake valuations of various property transactions as required by clients.
  • Conduct the Council's annual cycle of Asset Valuations in accordance with Authority's Financial Regulations, RICS Red Book and CIPFA guidance.
  • Ensure effective management of surplus properties pending disposal and proactive management of the client's non-operational property portfolio.
  • Undertake general estate management duties as needed by the wider team due to caseload.
  • Deputise for the Head of Asset Management and Valuation and other team members as required.
  • Supervise team members on a daily basis.
  • Undertake the training and professional development of team members.
  • Frequent travel to other offices and sites is required.
  • Comply with Group ISO standards, deliver quality assured outputs and promote continuous improvement.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an estates-related discipline.
  • A sound knowledge of valuation methodology and all property valuation techniques is required.
  • Experience of working within or with local authorities, and/or large public sector organisations is necessary.
  • Experience of coaching and supervising others within professional organisations is essential.
  • A full UK driving license is required to meet the travel requirements of the role.
