About Mondrian Alpha

Mondrian Alpha is a leading financial firm seeking a talented Research Data Analyst to join their team. As a Research Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's research activities by managing and analyzing large datasets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Management: Set up and manage data trials and subscriptions for alternative datasets, ensuring seamless data ingestion and publication.
  • Data Quality: Develop and maintain data quality check libraries, monitoring vendor data quality to optimize performance.
  • Data Analysis: Perform data analysis using Python, Jupyter, SQL, and Tableau, providing actionable insights to support research activities.
  • Visualization: Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate complex data insights to stakeholders.
  • Data Scouting: Identify new data sources, profile vendors, and provide feedback on the data landscape.
  • Work Planning: Prioritize work according to company objectives, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Buyside Data Experience: At least 3 years of data experience working for a buyside firm, with a strong understanding of data management and analysis.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong coding skills in SQL and Python, with experience working with data platforms such as Databricks and Dremio.
  • Data Management Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of data lifecycle management, including data ingestion, storage, and retrieval.
  • Research Data Expertise: Experience working with alternative and macroeconomic research datasets, with familiarity with vendors such as Macrobond, Haver, and Bloomberg.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel functionalities, including data analysis and visualization.
