Mondrian Alpha is a leading financial firm seeking a talented and experienced Research Data Analyst to join their team. As a Research Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's research activities by managing and analyzing large datasets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Management: Set up and manage data trials and subscriptions for alternative datasets, ensuring seamless access to research economists.
  • Data Ingestion and Publication: Ingest and publish datasets using the Data Team's platform, leveraging Databricks and Dremio to ensure data quality and performance.
  • Data Quality Management: Develop and maintain the data quality check library, monitoring vendor data quality to improve performance and accuracy.
  • Data Analysis: Perform data analysis using Python, Jupyter, SQL, and Tableau to provide actionable insights to research teams.
  • Dashboard and Visualization: Create dashboards and visualizations to support research activities, presenting complex data in an easily digestible format.
  • Data Scouting: Identify new data sources, profile vendors, and provide feedback to economists on the data landscape, ensuring access to the best possible data.
  • Work Planning: Plan and prioritize work according to company objectives, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Buyside Data Experience: At least 3 years of data experience working for a buyside firm, with a strong understanding of data management and analysis.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong coding skills in SQL and Python, with experience working with data platforms and tools.
  • Data Management Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of how organizations consume, lifecycle, and manage their data, with experience in data quality management.
  • Research Data Expertise: Experience working with alternative and macroeconomic research datasets, with familiarity with vendors such as Macrobond, Haver, Bloomberg, etc.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel functionalities, with experience in data analysis and visualization.
