About the Role

Livewell Southwest is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Approved Mental Health Professional to join our team. As a key member of our crisis response service, you will play a vital role in providing assessment and support to individuals experiencing mental health crisis in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct statutory assessments on behalf of the local authority under the Mental Health Act
  • Work collaboratively with our Police colleagues in the Joint Response Unit vehicle to provide acute assessment and care to individuals in crisis
  • Contribute to the overall work of the team, including supporting people with complex mental health difficulties
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to other mental health and social care services as required
  • Work across a 24/7 shift pattern, including on-call shifts

Requirements

  • Current professional registration with a relevant professional body (occupational therapist, psychologist, nurse, or social worker)
  • Successful completion of AMHP training and post-approval training record
  • Experience of coordinating and carrying out Mental Health Act Assessments in a range of settings
  • Experience of working in a mental health service and/or setting
  • Experience of working with adults experiencing mental health crisis/difficulties
