Autism Education Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALN) to join our team at Chestnut Hill School in Holywell, Flintshire, Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of autistic pupils and young people.
The successful candidate will have QTS and a full UK driving licence, with the ability to build on the good practice within the school. We are committed to providing an inclusive, safe, inspiring and supportive environment where our pupils can thrive.
As an ALN Coordinator, you will be responsible for determining the strategic development of the ALN policy and provision at Chestnut Hill. You will work closely with the Headteacher, Head of School and therapy team to ensure that pupils with ALN receive appropriate support and high-quality teaching.
Key responsibilities include:
- Determining the strategic development of the ALN policy and provision at Chestnut Hill
- Working with the Headteacher, Head of School and therapy team to ensure that pupils with ALN receive appropriate support and high-quality teaching
- Liaising with class teams and parents/carers about pupils' needs and any provision made
- Coordinating transitions into and out of Chestnut Hill
- Supporting the Head of School and Executive Headteacher in formulating and annual school improvement plan
- Oversighting all baselining and screening assessments on entry to the school and subsequent baseline testing to monitor effective progress
- Delivering programmes of intervention to improve pupil progress in literacy and numeracy
We offer a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including life assurance, pension scheme, and access to a wide range of first-class mental health support services and physical health checks.
