Senior Climate Scientist Position at Met Office

We are currently seeking a Senior Climate Scientist to join our Science Directorate in the UK. The successful candidate will lead the development and use of climate models to deliver high-impact policy-relevant climate science.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and expertise.

We require an experienced scientist with a strong understanding of climate and earth system science, excellent programming skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.

As part of our team, you will have access to cutting-edge technology, collaborate with international partners, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to address climate change.

We offer a competitive salary of up to £57,639 annually, a generous pension scheme, and a range of benefits including annual leave and flexible working arrangements.

To succeed in this role, you must have a PhD level qualification in a relevant scientific field, demonstrated experience of using climate data and/or models, and strong organisational and communication skills.
