Divisional Director of Nursing

About the Role
The Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Divisional Director of Nursing and Allied Health Professionals. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the nursing and allied health professionals (AHPs) workforce in the community division, ensuring that they are equipped to deliver high-quality patient care and services.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, safety, and experience, in line with the Trust's values and objectives.
- Collaborate with other senior leaders to develop and implement divisional and trust-wide strategies, ensuring that they are aligned with national and local priorities.
- Provide professional leadership and guidance to nursing and AHP staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care and services.
- Ensure that the division is compliant with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to infection prevention and control, safeguarding, and patient safety.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including patients, families, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Trust's quality strategy, ensuring that it is aligned with national and local priorities.
- Lead and manage the division's finances, ensuring that they are managed effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure that the division is compliant with all relevant HR policies and procedures, including those related to recruitment, retention, and development of staff.
Requirements
- Significant experience at senior practitioner level, including strategy development, budgetary control, and clinical leadership.
- High level of communication skills and ability to influence strategic direction.
- Skills in co-production working within senior leadership, while maintaining integrity for area of responsibility.
- Skills in strategic leadership, including the ability to lead and deliver teams and services that deliver improved outcomes and meet organisational targets.
- Ability to manage sensitive and contentious information with emotional intelligence.
- Ability to interpret complex information and adjust strategic plans, ensuring successful delivery of objectives within timescales.
- Critical thinking skills in data analysis.
