Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join the NWSSP Audit & Assurance Service in the role of Deputy Head of Internal Audit.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational provision of an Internal Audit service to a number of NHS organisations based in South Wales. The role will involve formulating strategic and operational plans based on an 'Audit Needs Assessment/Risk Assessment.'

Main Duties

The main duties of the Deputy Head of Internal Audit include:

  • Responsibility for the operational provision of an Internal Audit service to a number of NHS organisations based in South Wales.
  • Formulating strategic and operational plans based on an 'Audit Needs Assessment/Risk Assessment.'
  • Supporting the production of an Audit Plan linked to the organisations' Risk Management and Assurance Frameworks.
  • Preparation of complex information and progress reports for inclusion within the Audit Committee Agendas.
  • Attendance at Audit Committees to present audit reports.
  • Managing the team's delivery against planned commitments and monitoring of quality and performance against agreed key performance indicators.
