About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager to join our team at National Grid. As a key member of our property management team, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of our office estate, ensuring properties are maintained and compliant with legislative requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in facilities and property management, working for a company at the heart of the energy transition. You will be based in either Warwick or London, with the option to work from home and travel to offices and project sites as required.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain our offices to deliver a fantastic experience for our colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance data is fully captured and updated in the required system.
  • Work with external suppliers and stakeholders to ensure all required property-related works are completed in a timely manner.
  • Create and submit purchase orders, process invoices from service providers, and manage communication with the finance team and other stakeholders.
  • Produce and develop management reports for the team and stakeholders.

About you

  • Experience of operations and maintenance in facilities or property services.
  • Some experience in facilities management or equivalent transferable experience with a demonstrable interest and desire to learn.
  • A basic understanding of UK Health & Safety laws and statutory regulations relating to building management.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH – or willing to undertake training (paid for by National Grid).
  • Highly customer-focused with proven communication skills at different levels with both internal and external contacts.
  • Must hold a UK driving license and be willing to travel across the regions as the business needs require.
  • A team player, willing to support the wider team and in turn receive support from them, to deliver our overarching objectives.

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £39,000 - £43,652 – dependent on capability. The role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis.

As well as your base salary, a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines, and matched charity giving to name a few.
