Job Title: Academic Advisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Academic Advisor to join our team at New College of the Humanities Ltd. The successful candidate will provide academic guidance and support to students, helping them to achieve their academic goals and succeed in their studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide academic advice and guidance to students on their academic programs and career paths.
  2. Assist students in selecting elective courses and navigating the university's academic policies and procedures.
  3. Support students in developing their academic skills and strategies, including time management, note-taking, and study skills.
  4. Work with students to identify and address any barriers to their academic success, such as learning difficulties or personal issues.
  5. Liaise with faculty and staff to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
  6. Maintain accurate records of student contacts and appointments.
  7. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in academic advising.

Requirements:

  1. Honours degree or equivalent professional or vocational qualification.
  2. Experience in academic advising or a related field.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems.

Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time permanent position. The successful candidate will be required to work in Devon House, London, with occasional travel to other locations.
