Academic Advisor (Mobility)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Academic Advisor to join our team at New College of the Humanities Ltd. The successful candidate will provide academic guidance and support to students studying on mobility programmes at our London campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one academic advice and support to students, referring them to specialist services as needed.
  • Contact students at risk of academic failure, assessing their needs and providing support or referring them to faculty or specialist services.
  • Liaise with Student Wellbeing Coordinators regarding students' Learning Support Plans.
  • Provide advice on college policies, such as Change in Circumstances and Extenuating Circumstances.
  • Liaise with faculty and professional staff in London to process and advise students on academic progress reports.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the university's student-facing policies to provide accurate advice.
  • Support the Lead Academic Advisor and university leaders in academic articulation of integrated programmes.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the UK education sector and advise leadership teams accordingly.
  • Collect and maintain data and records of programmes for statistical and evaluation purposes.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of academic expectations for undergraduate students in UK universities.
  • Experience utilizing student information systems and CRM systems.
  • Good IT skills, including Word, Excel, email, Internet, and databases.
  • Ability to occasionally work weekends and outside of normal office hours.
  • Experience working with university students.
  • Experience living, traveling, or working abroad.
