Part-time Academic Advisor

Join Fanshawe College as a Part-time Academic Advisor and play a vital role in supporting the academic success of students. As a key member of our team, you will provide academic and personal advising to students, grounded in developmental and proactive approaches. You will also participate in College retention and student success initiatives, and complete administrative tasks to support student success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic and personal advising to students, using a lifecycle approach
  • Participate in College retention and student success initiatives
  • Complete administrative tasks, including data tracking and reporting
  • Support the Associate Dean in program areas, providing advising services
  • Participate as a team member in meetings and day-to-day operations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Education or a post-secondary 3-year diploma/degree in a related field
  • Master's degree in Education or a related field is an asset
  • Working knowledge of student academic and personal advising theories and best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, and basic familiarity with office procedures
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software applications
