About the Role

We are seeking two highly skilled Staff Scientists to join our dynamic team at the Central Oxford Structural Molecular Imaging Centre (COSMIC). As a Staff Scientist, you will play a crucial role in the efficient running of our flagship cryo-electron microscopy facility, contributing to the maintenance of our cutting-edge equipment, training users, and engaging in collaborative research projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Microscope Facility Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the facility
  • Contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of our cryo-electron microscopes and associated equipment
  • Train users on the operation and maintenance of the microscopes
  • Engage in collaborative research projects with our team and external partners
  • Support the Computational team in building and maintaining our servers and providing user support

About You

We are looking for highly skilled and motivated scientists with a minimum of a BSc in a relevant area of science. You should have a strong background in cryo-electron microscopy, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
