About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vaccination Nurse to join our team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Vaccination Nurse, you will play a vital role in improving health and wellbeing by increasing vaccination rates and coverage, thereby protecting people from preventable diseases.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work across Northumberland and North Tyneside, covering a 7-day working week. They will be responsible for ensuring appropriate client safety while adhering to policies and procedures. The Vaccination Nurse will also provide information to staff and patients to enable them to access the vaccination programme through informed consent.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • 1st Level live NMC Registered Nurse
  • Awareness of national and local policy and guidance relating to Public Health
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • City & Guilds 730 teaching qualification or similar
  • Experience of delivering vaccinations within hospitals and community settings

About Us

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate.
