About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Vaccination Nurse to join our team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Vaccination Nurse, you will play a vital role in improving health and wellbeing by increasing vaccination rates and coverage, thereby protecting people from preventable diseases.
Main Responsibilities
As a Vaccination Nurse, you will work autonomously and as part of a team to provide a high-quality service to staff and patients. You will be responsible for ensuring appropriate client safety while adhering to policies and procedures. You will also provide information to staff and patients to enable them to access the vaccination programme through informed consent.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- 1st Level live NMC Registered Nurse
- Awareness of national and local policy and guidance relating to Public Health
- Ability to work collaboratively with occupational health and wellbeing staff to deliver all pre-employment staff vaccinations and immunisation checks
About Us
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate.
