Hotel in South Kensington Seeks Experienced Sous Chef

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen brigade at a boutique hotel in South Kensington. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the production of high-quality food for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of food for the hotel's restaurants, bars, and room service.
  • Manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring seamless service and maintaining high standards.
  • Contribute to the development of new menu items and assist with menu planning.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and HACCP protocols.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Assist with stock takes, inventory management, and ordering supplies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef in a hotel or high-end restaurant.
  • Proven ability to multitask, work under pressure, and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Fluency in English and knowledge of Southwestern European cuisine (Italian, Spanish, French) and British cuisine.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide the kitchen team.
