Job Summary:

The Executive Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. This role will also involve managing a team of chefs, delegating tasks, and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Manage a team of chefs, including Chef de Partie's, to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed, and that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and organized manner.
  • Coach and develop the skills of junior chefs, including cooking techniques, dish presentation, and allergens.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure that all kitchen operations are running smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a passion for creating high-quality dishes.
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols, and ability to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
