Job Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Community Therapy Team, you will play a vital role in supporting Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in delivering rehabilitation interventions to adults in the community.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to manage their time under pressure, and demonstrate a flexible and innovative approach to their work. They will also have a full driving license and access to their own car for work purposes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting therapists to deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions, with a focus on empowering patients to attain their chosen goals. This will involve working in group settings, in patients' homes, and with patients individually in our therapy gym.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting therapists in delivering rehabilitation interventions
  • Working with patients to identify and achieve their goals
  • Providing emotional support and encouragement to patients
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive team culture

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
  • A basic standard of education, including GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths
  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate to enable the post holder to carry out the role effectively
  • A reliable, patient, observant, and willing-to-learn approach
  • An ability to manage your time under pressure
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work

Salary

The salary for this role is £25,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
