About the Role

As a Healthcare Support Specialist at GSL Education - Bournemouth, you will be responsible for providing assistance to students with severe learning difficulties in a supportive and nurturing environment. Your primary objective is to help these individuals reach their full potential by supporting them in both educational and personal care settings.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing one-to-one or group support to students with severe learning difficulties.
  • Assisting with personal care needs, such as toileting, feeding, and dressing where required.
  • Helping to create and implement individualized care and educational plans for students.
  • Offering emotional and behavioral support to students, promoting their well-being and social development.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students' needs.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine desire to support and empower pupils with SLD.
  • Understanding of personal care and moving and handling procedures (training will be provided).
  • A positive, proactive attitude and a flexible approach to your work.
  • DBS registration to the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education.

Salary and Benefits

This rewarding role comes with an estimated salary range of £25,000-£35,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.
