Main Responsibilities

The Assistant Centre Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the sales, community engagement, operational, and financial performance of the centre. This includes:

Operational:
  • Assisting in setting, monitoring, and developing building presentation standards, including cleanliness, health and safety, and security.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act, with support from 'Operations'.
  • Maintaining and delivering the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule.
  • Managing procurement and contractors.
  • Implementing standard operating procedures.
  • Maintaining Centre Asset register & Contract Database.
  • Overseeing maintenance and managing assets, stock, and inventory.
  • Setting up and maintaining in-house IT systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with GDPR and Money Laundering Regulations.
  • Maintaining records for ISO9001:2015 & ISO14001.
  • Developing a culture of quality service and customer care.
  • Ensuring competent staff are on duty in the Centre Manager's absence.
  • Attending training courses and meetings.
Financial:
  • Supporting financial management, including invoicing and debt management.
  • Assisting in budget planning and financial reporting.
  • Reconciling invoices for audit compliance.
Team Development:
  • Assisting with team management and recruitment.
  • Coaching the centre management team to ensure high customer service standards.
Sales and Marketing:
  • Promoting available space and generating revenue.
  • Identifying additional revenue opportunities.
  • Promoting Oxford Innovation Space's services.
  • Developing a community of entrepreneurs.
  • Maintaining awareness of clients' business performance.
  • Assisting in event preparation and marketing initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Experience in operational running of a similar asset.
  • Management skills to lead a team in a service environment.
  • Negotiation skills.
