Director of Campus Engagement and Student Programs

Widener University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Campus Engagement and Student Programs. This key leadership role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance student engagement, retention, and success. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of designing and delivering high-impact programs, events, and services that foster a sense of community and belonging among students.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive student engagement strategies that align with the university's mission and goals.
- Design and deliver innovative programs, events, and services that promote student retention, academic success, and personal growth.
- Collaborate with campus partners to develop and implement initiatives that enhance student life, including new student orientation, student leadership development, and campus traditions.
- Manage and oversee the operations of the University Center, Alumni Hall, and Lathem Hall, including facility management, event planning, and budget administration.
- Recruit, select, train, and supervise student staff and employees to support student engagement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with campus stakeholders, including students, faculty, and staff, to promote student engagement and success.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of student engagement initiatives and make data-driven decisions to improve programs and services.
- Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in student affairs, student engagement, or a related field.
- Proven track record of designing and delivering high-impact programs, events, and services that promote student engagement and retention.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Experience working in a higher education setting.
- Knowledge of risk management practices and operations management.
- Ability to drive university-owned vans to transport students to events.
- Frequent evening and weekend hours are required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Ability to be mobile between workstation and other buildings on campus.
