Catering Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Holroyd Howe, a leading contract caterer providing fresh and innovative food services to independent schools and colleges.

As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our catering services, working closely with our experienced team to deliver high-quality meals to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of lunch and snacks according to established menus and recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the front of house and kitchen areas, including organizing dishes and utensils.
  • Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.

Requirements:

  • Ideally have experience working within education catering.
  • Have good health and safety knowledge.
  • Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer-focused.
  • Fun and enthusiastic.
  • Have excellent organization skills.
  • Demonstrate great attention to detail.
  • Be a team player and enjoy succeeding as a team.
  • Possess great customer service skills.
  • Have a flexible approach to work.
