About the Role

In this exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for working with parents, carers, students, employers, childcare providers, and professionals to provide high-quality information and advice about childcare and related matters. This will involve community-based activities, such as attending events, visiting local groups, and engaging with key partners to ensure effective dissemination of information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gathering data to manage the childcare market, liaising with partners to collect information, and updating an accurate database of childcare provision and activities.
  • Communicating complex information with parents and carers/professionals contacting the service by phone and email, and delivering this information in a clear and appropriate manner.
  • Resolving and signposting enquirers to relevant agencies, and supporting with in-depth childcare brokerage/funding enquiries.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need a relevant Level 3 childcare qualification or work experience in a child-related field, as well as a Level 3 NVQ or above in Advice and Guidance or Customer Service. You should also possess relevant ICT skills sufficient to develop systems and analyze data.

Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels, and have the ability to present a positive, practical, and creative approach to the use of ICT, including social media. Knowledge and understanding of the Childcare Act, Data Protection Act, and Freedom of Information Act are also essential.
