The Role:

This senior leadership position plays a key role in shaping the Department of Health's allied health strategy and policy in Tasmania. The successful candidate will provide high-level advice and recommendations to the Chief Allied Health Advisor and Health Executive members on statewide strategic allied health programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of statewide strategic allied health programs across the Department of Health and in partnership with other agencies and external stakeholders.
  2. Provide analysis of the political, social, and operational environment to identify complex and significant allied health professional issues and strategic opportunities.
  3. Advocate for and influence strategic and operational decisions using expert negotiation and conflict management skills with internal and external stakeholders.

The Team:

The Allied Health Strategy and Policy team is a small team with a big impact across Tasmania. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Allied Health Advisor and be supported by other team members to achieve the objectives of the role.

What We Offer:

This is a permanent, full-time position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Some intrastate and interstate travel is required. The successful applicant will be eligible for a salary range of $154,260 to $155,545 per annum plus 11% superannuation. In addition, the following allowances may be available: Professional Development Allowance of up to $1,000 per annum or the ability to accrue funds up to five years, and relocation assistance will be considered.

Eligibility:

The successful applicant will be required to meet the essential criteria, including satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registration with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, eligibility for membership with the relevant professional association.
