Job Summary

The role requires a deep understanding of the key contemporary workforce issues affecting the allied health professions, including the specific issues impacting the small and vulnerable professions. The successful candidate will have a track record of working in a complex matrix environment to manage clinical aspects of programme delivery and be able to demonstrate advocacy in this respect.

Main Duties of the Job

The role is the deputy to the Deputy Chief Allied Health Professions Officer - NHS England Workforce Training and Education. The successful candidate will oversee the supply pipeline and postgraduate training pathways for the 15 allied health professions.

Key Criteria

  • Is a current allied health professional registered with either the Healthcare Professions Council or the General Osteopathic Council.
  • Can evidence extensive workforce leadership experience across allied health at regional and/or national level.
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of and track record of working in a complex matrix environment to manage clinical aspects of programme delivery.
  • Can demonstrate a sound understanding of the key contemporary workforce issues affecting the allied health professions including the specific issues impacting the small and vulnerable professions.
  • Can demonstrate a sound grasp of the strategic value of allied health professions workforce in the current context of services focussed on inequalities, quality, and safety and can demonstrate advocacy in this respect.
