Head Gardener

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Gardener to lead our team of gardeners and volunteers at Belton Estate. As a key member of the Property Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and long-term planning of the gardens, working closely with the General Manager and other team members.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing a diverse garden throughout the seasons, with excellent knowledge of plants and plant care. They will be enthusiastic about horticulture, dedicated to high-quality presentation, and have a creative flair for gardening.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading a team of gardeners and volunteers to deliver an outstanding garden experience
- Managing operational risk and compliance requirements relevant to horticulture
- Developing and implementing long-term plans for the gardens, including budgeting and resource management
- Working closely with the visitor experience team to champion the cause of the gardens and engage visitors with the beauty and nature of the garden
