About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at Public Practice Recruitment Ltd in Bedford. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting our clients and helping them achieve their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support a varied client portfolio, working closely with the Senior Management team to ensure budgets, deadlines, and expectations are met.
  • Preparation of draft tax computations and financial statements.
  • Use cloud-based programs including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office to manage client workflows and financial data.
  • Involvement in ad-hoc work projects to further support Senior Managers and Directors.
  • Oversee client workflow, championing service excellence at every step.
  • Support junior staff by reviewing work and aiding their professional development.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, dealing with queries quickly and effectively.
  • Research and interpret changes to taxation and accounting regulations.
  • Champion your own professional development, enthusiastically undertaking training opportunities where possible.
Requirements
  • ACCA / ACA qualified, part qualified, or studying.
  • Qualified by experience would also be considered.
  • A proven track record of managing a client portfolio within practice.
  • Strong working knowledge of software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
  • A team player who can also work autonomously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • A hands-on, can-do attitude towards problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage your own deadlines and workflow.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Keen to progress within the firm by learning from the team.
