Freight Forwarding Business Development Manager

Bis Henderson is a leading provider of recruitment, interim management, and consultancy services to the supply chain and logistics industry. Our team has extensive experience in Freight Forwarding and Contract Logistics, with a strong focus on developing new business opportunities.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join our growing 3PL business. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new external business by successfully sourcing and creating a pipeline of sales in the UK within the Freight Forwarding industry. You will need to have prior experience in a similar role within Freight Forwarding and/or Contract Logistics, as well as a strong network within the UK Warehouse and Logistics industry. This will enable you to develop new work through existing contacts.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on negotiation and closing skills, with a strong commercial acumen. Travel within the UK will be required, with regular visits to our Client's site in Chertsey or Weybridge approximately twice per week.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in Freight Forwarding and/or Contract Logistics
- Proven experience in a similar business development or sales role
- A strong network within the UK Warehouse and Logistics industry
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a strong commercial acumen
Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 + Bonus
