Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Teaching Assistant to join our team at an independent specialist school in Havering, focusing on supporting students with Autism and SEMH needs. The ideal candidate will possess excellent behaviour management skills, be highly patient, and able to remain calm under pressure.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing individualised support to students, leading small group interventions, and assisting teachers during lessons. Your primary goal will be to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters growth and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students during lessons, providing guidance and encouragement as needed
  • Develop and implement engaging activities to promote students' social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop individualised education plans
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and structured classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEN (desired)
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • High levels of patience and resilience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents

The salary for this position is approximately £95 per day.
